The Arts League is a dynamic group of community leaders who believe that the Arts are a necessity, not a luxury, and are passionate about ensuring that artistic and cultural opportunities are available to the entire community—not to just a privileged few.
The Arts League is a fundraising arm of Arts Council Northeast and has proudly supported the Council since 1985. Event proceeds from the Shining Stars luncheon will help carry on outstanding community arts programs including:
• Visual and performing arts concerts free and open to the public through the MasterWorks Concert Series—for the last 32 years, with 87 concerts to over 20,000 people in 2013 and a busy concert schedule in 2014.
• Summer Arts College—over 4,350 students since 1995 and 1,200 scholarships, so no child was turned away.
• Arts-related Grants—over $780,000 with matching grants totaling over 1.4 million for the arts since 1997 benefiting at-risk youth, school children, senior citizens and emerging arts groups and individual artists while touching the lives of over 150,000 North Tarrant and Southern Denton County citizens last year alone.
• An extension of the Summer Arts College for disadvantaged children served by GRACE, Community Enrichment Center and The Community Storehouse.
Event proceeds from the Shining Stars Luncheon go to Arts Council Northeast to keep the Arts alive in the 16 North Tarrant County and Southern Denton County cities and seven school districts served.
